About Neuro-critical Care
Neuro-critical care looks after patients with life-threatening brain, nerve and spinal conditions in the intensive care unit. Close monitoring of brain pressure, breathing, blood pressure and seizures can prevent further injury.
Teams include neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, nurses and physiotherapists. Early rehabilitation begins in the ICU, and families are updated regularly on goals and progress.
