About Dermatosurgery
Dermatosurgery covers surgical procedures on the skin, hair and nails, usually done under local anaesthesia as day-care. They include biopsies, removal of moles, cysts and warts, treatment of keloids and surgical options for stable vitiligo.
A mole that changes in size, shape or colour, or a sore that does not heal, should be examined promptly, as early removal of skin cancer is highly effective. Removed tissue is usually sent for laboratory examination.
