Gout

Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid crystals within joints, leading to sudden, severe attacks of pain, redness, and swelling, most classically in the big toe. It results from hyperuricemia, an excess of uric acid in the blood, which can form sharp needle-like crystals that trigger intense inflammatory reactions.
