🔬How Radical Cystectomy is Performed

• 1Pre-operative assessment — blood work, ECG, imaging, and fitness for general anesthesia
• 2Administration of general anesthesia by the anaesthesia team
• 3Surgical access — incisions or ports created based on open or minimally invasive approach
• 4Core procedure: Surgical removal of the entire bladder (and surrounding organs in some cases) for invasive or recurrent bladder cancer, followed by urinary diversion to redirect urine flow.
• 5Haemostasis, drain placement if needed, and systematic closure of surgical layers
• 6Transfer to recovery room for anaesthesia reversal and vital-sign monitoring
