Appendectomy in Doddur, Gadag, Karnataka

Why Appendectomy Is Needed

Performed to treat acute appendicitis, where the appendix becomes blocked, often by hardened stool or swollen lymphoid tissue, and becomes inflamed and infected. If untreated, an inflamed appendix can rupture, spilling infection into the abdominal cavity and causing life-threatening peritonitis, which is why prompt surgery is standard once appendicitis is diagnosed.
