🔬How Hysterectomy is Performed

• 1Pre-operative assessment — blood work, ECG, imaging, and fitness for general/spinal anesthesia
• 2Administration of general/spinal anesthesia by the anaesthesia team
• 3Surgical access — incisions or ports created based on open or minimally invasive approach
• 4Core procedure: Surgical removal of the uterus, performed to treat uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse, abnormal bleeding, or uterine/cervical cancer. Can be total, partial, or radical.
• 5Haemostasis, drain placement if needed, and systematic closure of surgical layers
• 6Transfer to recovery room for anaesthesia reversal and vital-sign monitoring
