About Pediatric Endocrinology
Paediatric endocrinology treats hormone problems in children: growth, puberty, thyroid, diabetes and weight. A child who grows less than about 4–5 cm a year, or whose puberty starts very early or very late, should be assessed.
Type 1 diabetes in children is managed with insulin, monitoring and family education. Growth hormone treatment is used only after confirmation of deficiency.
