About Cytopathology
Cytopathology examines individual cells collected from smears, needle aspirates or body fluids. It includes Pap smears for cervical screening and fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) for lumps in the breast, thyroid and neck.
FNAC is a quick outpatient test that often avoids surgery. Results guide whether further testing or treatment is needed.
