About Trauma & Fracture Care
Trauma care treats broken bones and related injuries. Some fractures heal in a cast, while others need plates, rods or screws to hold the bone in position so that it heals correctly and movement returns sooner.
After an injury, avoid moving a suspected fracture, immobilise the limb and get an X-ray promptly. Open wounds with bone visible, severe bleeding or a cold, pale limb are emergencies.
