About Orthopedic Oncology
Orthopaedic oncology treats tumours of the bones and soft tissues. Persistent bone pain that wakes you at night, or a growing lump, needs investigation with X-ray, MRI and biopsy.
Modern care often saves the limb by removing the tumour and reconstructing with implants or grafts, combined with chemotherapy or radiotherapy where needed. Treatment is best done at centres with a multidisciplinary team.
