About Pediatric Oncology
Paediatric oncology treats cancer in children, whose cancers differ from those in adults and often respond very well to treatment. Childhood leukaemia, for example, has high cure rates.
Warning signs include unexplained fever, paleness, bruising, bone pain, a persistent lump or a white reflex in the pupil. Treatment is best given at specialist centres with family support.
