Theranostics

Theranostics pairs a diagnostic scan with a matching radioactive treatment aimed at the same target, such as lutetium therapy for neuroendocrine tumours and prostate cancer. A scan first shows whether the tumour takes up the tracer.

Treatment is delivered in a protected setting and is done at specialised centres with radiation-safety approval.
