Fatty Liver Clinic

A fatty liver clinic assesses and treats fat build-up in the liver, which is common with obesity, diabetes and high cholesterol. Most people have no symptoms, and it is found on ultrasound or abnormal liver tests.

FibroScan measures scarring. Weight loss of 7 to 10 per cent, exercise, less sugar and refined carbohydrates, and controlling diabetes can reverse fatty liver. Avoid alcohol.
