About Gynecologic Oncology
Gynaecologic oncology treats cancers of the female reproductive organs. Cervical cancer is largely preventable through HPV vaccination and regular Pap or HPV screening.
Any bleeding after menopause, bleeding between periods or after intercourse, or persistent bloating and pelvic pain needs medical evaluation. Treatment combines surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, planned by a multidisciplinary team.
