About Endocrine Surgery
Endocrine surgery treats hormone-related glands that need an operation: the thyroid, parathyroids and adrenals. A thyroid lump is evaluated with ultrasound and needle sampling (FNAC) to find out whether it is benign.
Most thyroid nodules are not cancerous, and many thyroid cancers have an excellent outlook. After thyroid surgery, some people need lifelong thyroid hormone tablets.
