About Breast Surgery
Breast surgery covers evaluation and surgical treatment of breast lumps and cancer. Most lumps are benign, such as fibroadenomas or cysts, but any new lump should be examined with ultrasound or mammography and, if needed, biopsy.
Regular self-awareness, clinical examination and screening mammography from around 40 help detect cancer early, when breast-conserving surgery is often possible.
