Exploratory Laparotomy in Arameri, Kodagu, Karnataka

Types of Exploratory Laparotomy

The approach can be a midline incision, giving the widest access for trauma and unclear diagnoses, or a targeted incision based on where the problem is suspected to be, such as the right lower quadrant for suspected appendicitis. In some centres, a diagnostic laparoscopy is attempted first to assess the extent of injury, converting to open laparotomy if the findings require more extensive repair.
