Find a hospital by type
Lab Dekho lists 53 hospitals across 5 types, 15 of them shown as accredited. Choosing the right kind of hospital first saves time: a clinic is enough for most consultations, while planned surgery or complex illness is better handled where the right department and critical-care backup exist.
Hospital types and what they offer
Dental · 39 listed
Clinics and hospitals focused on teeth and gums — check-ups, fillings, root canals, braces, implants and oral surgery.
Multi-Specialty · 7 listed
General hospitals with many departments under one roof, suited to most admissions, surgeries, maternity and emergency care.
Super Specialty · 4 listed
Large centres with advanced departments for complex care — cardiac and neuro surgery, transplants, cancer treatment and critical care.
Government · 2 listed
Publicly run hospitals with low-cost or free treatment; many are empanelled under Ayushman Bharat and run teaching programmes.
Clinic · 1 listed
Outpatient clinics for consultations, check-ups, minor procedures and follow-up care, usually without inpatient beds.
Which type of hospital do you need?
- Routine illness, check-ups and follow-ups: a clinic or your regular doctor.
- Planned surgery, maternity or a hospital stay: a multi-speciality hospital with the department you need.
- Complex conditions such as heart or brain surgery, transplants or cancer treatment: a super-speciality centre.
- Emergencies: the nearest hospital with a 24-hour emergency department — call 108 or 112 first if needed.
Whatever the type, check accreditation (such as NABH), insurance or Ayushman Bharat empanelment and the doctors available for your condition. You can also browse hospitals by city or compare doctors first.
