Causes of Nutritional Anaemia
Most commonly caused by inadequate dietary intake of iron, particularly in children who consume excessive milk with limited iron-rich solid foods, or diets lacking vitamin B12 and folate. Other contributing factors include chronic blood loss from intestinal parasites, malabsorption conditions affecting nutrient uptake, and rapid growth periods that increase nutritional demands beyond what the diet provides. Premature birth and low birth weight also increase susceptibility to iron deficiency in infancy.
