What is Melasma?

Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by brown or grayish-brown patches of hyperpigmentation, typically appearing symmetrically on the face, including the cheeks, forehead, and upper lip. It is strongly linked to hormonal changes, sun exposure, and genetic predisposition, and is far more common in women, particularly during pregnancy or while taking hormonal contraceptives.
