Causes of Cervical Spondylosis
Primarily caused by age-related wear and tear of the cervical spine's discs and joints, leading to disc dehydration, bulging, and the formation of bone spurs that can narrow the spinal canal or nerve openings. Risk factors include repetitive neck strain from occupation or sports, prior neck injury, genetic predisposition, and smoking, which accelerates disc degeneration. It becomes increasingly common with advancing age.
