Causes of Viral Fever
Caused by infection with any of numerous common respiratory or systemic viruses, including rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, and seasonal enteroviruses, which trigger the release of pyrogens that reset the body's temperature control centre in the hypothalamus. Transmission usually occurs through respiratory droplets, contaminated surfaces, or close contact with an infected person. Risk increases with crowded living conditions, seasonal changes, poor hand hygiene, and weakened immunity.
