Causes of Childhood Asthma
Results from a combination of genetic predisposition and environmental triggers that cause chronic airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness. Common triggers include viral respiratory infections, exposure to allergens such as dust mites, pollen, and pet dander, tobacco smoke exposure, cold air, and exercise.
