What is Nutritional Anaemia?
Nutritional anaemia is a condition in which the body has an insufficient number of healthy red blood cells due to inadequate intake or absorption of essential nutrients required for red blood cell production, most commonly iron, but also vitamin B12 and folate. It is particularly common in young children due to rapid growth demands combined with diets that may not provide adequate nutrient intake, and can significantly affect a child's energy levels, growth, and cognitive development if left uncorrected. It remains one of the most widespread nutritional deficiencies among children in developing regions.
