Causes of Azoospermia
Obstructive azoospermia is commonly caused by a prior vasectomy, congenital absence of the vas deferens, or blockage from infection or scarring in the reproductive tract. Non-obstructive azoospermia results from impaired sperm production due to genetic conditions such as Klinefelter syndrome, hormonal deficiencies, prior chemotherapy or radiation, undescended testicles in childhood, or varicocele. In many cases of non-obstructive azoospermia, the exact cause remains unidentified despite thorough evaluation.
