What is Stomach Cancer?
Stomach Cancer, also called gastric cancer, is a malignant tumor that develops in the lining of the stomach, most commonly starting in the mucus-producing cells. It often grows slowly over many years and may not cause noticeable symptoms until it reaches an advanced stage, contributing to frequently late diagnosis. The disease is strongly associated with chronic infection by Helicobacter pylori bacteria and certain dietary patterns. Its incidence varies considerably by region, being notably higher in parts of East Asia.
