Causes of Seasonal Allergy
Caused by an exaggerated immune response to airborne allergens such as pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds, mould spores, or dust mites, which vary in concentration by season and region. Genetic predisposition to allergic conditions, known as atopy, increases susceptibility, and the condition often coexists with asthma or eczema in the same individual. Urban air pollution can worsen the severity of allergic symptoms by increasing airway irritation and inflammation.
