Treatment & Types of Febrile Seizure in CVD, Delhi
During a seizure, the priority is to keep the child safe by placing them on their side, removing nearby hazards, and timing the seizure, without restraining movements or placing anything in the mouth. Most febrile seizures resolve within a few minutes without specific treatment, though a seizure lasting longer than five minutes requires emergency medical care. Fever-reducing medication may improve comfort but does not reliably prevent recurrence, and further evaluation is typically recommended after a first febrile seizure to rule out serious underlying infection.
