Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer develops in the cells of the cervix, the lower part of the uterus connecting to the vagina. Most cervical cancers are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.

The most common symptoms include: Abnormal vaginal bleeding (after sex; between periods; or after menopause); watery or bloody vaginal discharge. Early recognition is key to prompt diagnosis and effective treatment.

No, Cervical Cancer is not contagious. It cannot spread through casual contact. However, certain risk factors and genetic predispositions may increase susceptibility.

Treatment options include: Surgery (hysterectomy; LEEP); radiation therapy. Treatment should always be guided by a qualified Oncology/Gynecology specialist. Do not self-medicate.
