Types of Hydrocele Surgery

Hydrocelectomy through a scrotal incision drains the fluid and either removes or folds back the surrounding membrane (the tunica vaginalis) to prevent fluid from re-accumulating. For hydroceles related to an inguinal hernia or a persistent fetal channel, an inguinal approach is used instead, and this variant simultaneously repairs the underlying connection to prevent recurrence.
