Why Squint (Strabismus) Surgery Is Needed

Strabismus surgery is performed when the eye muscles are imbalanced, causing the eyes to misalign — from congenital muscle or nerve development issues, uncorrected refractive errors, nerve palsies, or as a result of conditions like thyroid eye disease. In children, it's also done to prevent amblyopia (lazy eye) from developing due to the misalignment.
