Why Fracture Fixation (ORIF) Is Needed
ORIF is recommended for fractures that are displaced, unstable, involve a joint surface, or are unlikely to heal properly with a cast alone, such as complex long bone fractures, hip fractures in adults, or fractures accompanied by nerve or blood vessel injury.
