Types of Nephrectomy

Radical nephrectomy removes the entire kidney along with surrounding fat and sometimes nearby lymph nodes, typically for larger kidney tumors. Partial nephrectomy removes only the diseased portion, preserving healthy kidney tissue and function, and is preferred for smaller tumors, while both can be performed via open, laparoscopic, or robotic-assisted techniques depending on tumor size and location.
