Types of Hysteroscopy
Diagnostic hysteroscopy is used purely to visualise the inside of the uterus, often as an outpatient procedure with minimal or no anaesthesia, while operative hysteroscopy uses additional instruments passed through the scope to remove polyps, fibroids, or adhesions in the same sitting. It can also be combined with D&C for more thorough tissue sampling when needed.
