Types of Hernia Repair (Laparoscopic)
The two main laparoscopic techniques are TAPP (transabdominal preperitoneal), which enters the abdominal cavity before placing mesh, and TEP (totally extraperitoneal), which stays outside the abdominal cavity entirely and is often preferred for its lower risk of internal organ injury. Both use synthetic mesh to reinforce the weakened abdominal wall and prevent recurrence.
