Types of Arthroscopy (Knee)
Arthroscopy can be purely diagnostic, used just to visualize the joint, or operative, where the surgeon treats the problem found — such as trimming or repairing a torn meniscus, smoothing damaged cartilage, or removing loose bodies — in the same sitting. It's also used for partial or complete ACL/PCL ligament reconstruction and for washing out infected joints. The specific technique used depends entirely on what pathology is found once the camera is inside.
