About HIV Counselling & Testing
HIV counselling and testing is confidential and available free at government ICTC centres and at private clinics. Testing is quick, and a positive result leads to treatment that allows a long, healthy life.
After a possible exposure, post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) within 72 hours can prevent infection. Modern tests detect infection within weeks, and your counsellor will advise on repeat testing.
This page is general information, not medical advice. Fees, availability and outcomes vary by doctor and hospital.
